“We are searching memory of the land.

Roots which are looking for ways back and forward.”

A dance film about being uprooted, forced resettlement, lost land, lost language, and finding a way to reclaim one´s heritage. We created this film at my residency at Lásságámmi in Norway. Living and creating at this beautiful site, gave the spirit of the film. We also spent a lot of time reading the poetry of Nils Aslak Valkeapää and taking part of his art. The words in Davvisámegiella represents our heritage.
